Hanover Tavern Kickoff - Friday Feb 7, 2026

Virginia SAR is thrilled to share the return of the Ladies Luncheon at the historic Hanover Tavern on Friday before the start of our Annual Meeting. President Weyler encourages all our compatriots to consider bringing their spouses/significant others to celebrate and support their Virginia SAR compatriots and Virginia DAR Daughters who will be attending too.

Annual Meeting Begins - Friday 2/7/2026

This year's Annual Meeting beginning Friday will include our traditional Scrapbook Contest, our returning Virginia SAR Color Guard Drumhead Muster event, MemberClicks Hands-On Workshop, a Ladies Program Game Night with prizes then outgoing 105th President Weyler’s Reception closing out the evening.

Saturday's Events - 2/8/2026

Saturday the General Membership Meeting begins and is followed by the Rumbaugh Orations Contest and Youth Awards ceremony. There will be a Memorial Service at The Virginia Crossings with the announcement and awarding of the Public Service Awardees, the new State Officers installation, and the 2025 Chapter Winners. We will close with a group photo in front of the Jefferson Building on the portico steps in the afternoon.

Saturday evening will conclude the weekend with a Black-Tie Banquet Dinner to install the new Virginia SAR President. The time together will close with the new 106th President's Reception. If you have already earned GW Chapter medals for events participation, dust off the mini/formal versions and wear them with pride at the banquet and reception the final night of the conference. 'Don't have a tux? How about a dark suit...? If so, don't worry. Wear the suit and you'll "fit" right in. (Just be sure to wear the full-size medals on the suit, not the mini/formal versions.) 'Don't want to poke holes in your tux or suit jacket... that's fine too. We encourage all members to participate and make the most of this opportunity.
