Pohick Church - American Revolutionary War Patriots and War of 1812 Veterans Memorial

Honors:

Pohick Church, established in 1732, is known as The Home Church of George Washington and George Mason. Multiple chapters of the Virginia Sons of the American Revolution (Virginia SAR) conduct honors of solemn occasions. 


SAR compatriots will develop a biography for each individual in the SAR Patriot Research System (PRS) and commemorates with SAR grave markers. Additional markers from the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) may also located at many of the gravestones. 

Plan your visit:

Located on the grounds of the Pohick Church burial grounds.  Parking lot is available.  Touring Pohick Church:

  • Daily at 9:00 am – 4:30 pm: Free admission, self-guided tours
  • First Saturday of the month at 1:00 pm: Docents are available for groups after Sunday services, or by appointment through the Church Office, 703-339-6572.

Acknowledgement: 

The Fairfax Resolves and George Washington chapters of the Virginia SAR are not involved in funding or maintaining the cemetery annually.
