Chapter President David M. Walker addreses the crowd

A hearty crowd attended the wreath
laying ceremony on a wet and windy day at Mt. Vernon.

Carol Howerton, Virginia State Chaplain,
Daughters of the American Revolution, handed out red carnations
to veterans before and after the ceremony. On Veterans Day,
only veterans are allowed into the tomb to place flowers
on General Washington's sarcophagus.
