The Virginia Society (VASSAR) semi-annual meeting will be held September 10-11, 2010, in Winchester, Virginia. Details will be posted on the VASSAR website.
VASSAR is sponsoring a Special Commemoration and Picnic on September 18th
to honor the historic meeting of James Madison and Elder John Leland near
Orange, Virginia, during which Elder John convinced Madison of the
soundness of freedom of religion and speech. Later, when Madison wrote
his Bill of Rights, those two freedoms were included. For program details,

Please note, however, that this event is at the same time as the
September Chapter Meeting.
The Next Chapter Meeting will be Saturday, September 18, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. at the Belle Haven Country Club, Alexandria, Virginia. This is the third Saturday in September rather than the second Saturday because the VASSAR semi-annual meeting is scheduled for the preceding weekend.
